Pecos River



Pecos River, originates in New Mexico's Sangre de Cristo mountains and flows southeast more than 800 mi (1,300 km) through New Mexico and Texas. The longest tributary of the Rio Grande, it is controlled by several dams of the Carlsbad Reclamation Project and drains nearly 35,000 sq mi (91,000 sq km).
