Luciano Pavarotti



Pavarotti, Luciano (1935– ), Italian tenor. A leading singer internationally since his Italian debut (1961) as Rodolfo in La Bohème, he has performed regularly at New York City's Metropolitan Opera (N.Y.C.) since his 1968 debut there. He is noted for his interpretations of the works of Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, and Bellini. He is considered to be one of the greatest tenors of all times and is often compared with Caruso, Domingo, and Carreras.
