Parasite

Parasite, organism that is physiologically dependent on another organism, the host, from which it obtains nutrition and to which it gives nothing in return. Most parasites cannot survive if separated from their host, whom they may or may not harm. Besides the viruses (a wholly parasitic group), parasites include bacteria, flatworms, and various invertebrates.
