Pantheon



Pantheon, historically, temple dedicated to the worship of all the gods. In modern times it refers to a structure in which a nation's heroes are buried or honored. The Pantheon of Rome, a domed, circular temple, was built in 27 B.C. Later destroyed, it was rebuilt c.A.D. 120 by Hadrian. It became a Christian church in 609.
