Robert Treat Paine



Paine, Robert Treat (1731–1814), American lawyer, signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was a delegate to the Continental Congress (1774–8), first Massachusetts attorney general (1777–90), and Massachusetts state supreme court judge (1790–1804).
