Marcel Pagnol



Pagnol, Marcel (1895–1974), French playwright, screenwriter, director, producer, and critic. He wrote the screenplays Marius (1930) and Topaze (1932), both adapted from his own plays. Marius was the first in his Provençal trilogy, which also included Fanny and César.
