Ruth Bryan Owen

Owen, Ruth Bryan (1885–1954), first U.S. woman diplomat, as minister to Denmark (1933–36). The daughter of politician William Jennings Bryan, she served in the U.S. House of Representatives (1929–33) and as an alternate at the UN General Assembly (1949).
