Ostrich



Ostrich (Struthio camelus), the largest living bird, at one time found throughout Africa and southwest Asia but now common only in east Africa. Flightless birds, well adapted to a terrestrial life, they have long powerful legs, with two toes on each foot, an adaptation for running over dry grassland.
