Sir William Osler



Osler, Sir William (1849–1919), Canadian-born U.S. physician and educator who taught medical students the value of patient involvement. He was the first to detect platelets in blood, wrote many research papers on diseases and health problems, and helped establish the Association of American Physicians and the American Lung Association.
