Omaha



Omaha, Siouan-speaking Native American tribe of North America. They originally lived in the Ohio valley area, but moved with the Poncas to the Missouri River region and then to what is now the northeastern region of Nebraska. They were an agricultural and hunting tribe and lived mainly in earth lodges. Today 1,000–1,500 live on the Nebraska reservation.
