O'Connor, Flannery (1925–64), U.S. fiction writer noted for her brilliant style and grotesque, tragicomic vision of life in the South. Her work includes the novel Wise Blood (1952) and the short-story collections A Good Man Is Hard to Find (1955) and Everything That Rises Must Converge (1965).
