Ocmulgee National Monument



Ocmulgee National Monument, in central Georgia, site of prehistoric Native American ruins. Mounds date from 8,000 B.C. and include a council chamber, now reconstructed. The monument, established in 1934, occupies 683 acres (273.2 hectares).
