Oberammergau



Oberammergau (pop. 4,700), village in Germany's Bavarian Alps, famous for its Passion Play. Every 10 years inhabitants of the village reenact the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ, in fulfillment of a vow made by the villagers during a plague in 1633.
