Oahe Dam



Oahe Dam, in South Dakota, one of the world's largest embankment dams. Completed in 1960 by the U.S. Army, it has a volume of 92 million cu yd (70 million cu m). Facilities include seven 150-ft (46-m) high generators that together can produce 595,000 kw of electricity.
