Nuclear physics



Nuclear physics, study of the physical properties, structure, and laws of the atomic nucleus and subatomic particles. Its primary area of concern is the nature of matter and the behavior of elementary particles. The subject has grown rapidly with the technical exploitation of nuclear energy.
