Northern harrier



Northern harrier, or marsh hawk (Circus cyaneus), North American bird of prey. It belongs to the Old World vulture family, Accipitridae. Males are pale gray with a wingspan up to 45 in (114 cm) and a body 19 in (48 cm) long. Females are streaked brown; their bodies are slightly longer than the males'. Both have a white patch above the tail. They feed on snakes and fowl.
