Norman architecture



Norman architecture, medieval style characterized by massive scale, 6-part vaulted ceilings, and rounded arches. Structures in this style were built in Norman-conquered lands (northern France, England, southern Italy, Sicily), 1066–1154. La Trinité church in France and Ely Cathedral in England are examples.
