Jack Nicklaus



Nicklaus, Jack (1940– ), U.S. golfer. Before turning professional (1962) he won the United States Amateur tournament 2 times (1959, 61). His professional victories include the British Open (1966, 70, 78), U.S. Open (1962, 67, 72, 80), Masters tournament (1963, 65, 66, 72, 75, 86), and the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) tournament (1963, 71, 73, 75, 80). Nicklaus became the first golfer to be a repeat winner of all 4 of these major professional tournaments.
