Nephritis



Nephritis, general term for several diseases, especially glomerulonephritis, involving inflammation of the kidneys caused by infection or degenerative changes in the renal vessels. Acute or chronic renal failure or nephrotic syndrome may result. The treatment is chemicals, drugs, or steroids.
