Tallulah Brockman Bankhead



Bankhead, Tallulah Brockman (1903–68), U.S. actress in plays and films. A rebel from a distinguished Southern family who made her stage debut at 16, she established herself in such plays as Rain (1935) and The Little Foxes (1939), and in films such as Lifeboat (1944). Her deep, cynical voice and flamboyant personality made her a successful comedienne on radio and television.
