Baltimore oriole



Baltimore oriole (Icterus galbula), North American songbird about 18 in (20 cm) long, with a wingspan of about 12 in (30 cm). Males are black and bright orange; females and young are olive, yellow, and brownish. “Baltimore oriole” is now a popular term for the northern oriole because it is no longer considered a separate species but a subspecies.
