Balkan Peninsula

Balkan Peninsula, mountainous land area in southeastern Europe, south of the Danube and Sava rivers, surrounded by the Adriatic, Ionian, Mediterranean, Aegean, and Black seas. It contains the nations of Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, European Turkey, and most of former Yugoslavia.
