Avicenna



Avicenna (Ibn-Sina; 980–1037), Persian physician and philosopher. Of his prolific writings on theology, logic, metaphysics, and mathematics, his greatest is considered to be The Canon of Medicine, which remained a standard medical text in Europe until the Renaissance.
