Automatic frequency control

Automatic frequency control (AFC), circuit used in electronic devices such as radio, television, and radar to help maintain and control the frequency. The AFC circuit corrects frequency drifts (e.g., from a particular radio station) by producing a voltage that automatically reverses the drift and holds it on frequency.
