Australian Desert, comprises 3 deserts that cover about one-third of Australia's western and central area. They are the Great Sandy Desert, about 160,000 sq mi (414,000 sq km); the Gibson Desert, 120,000 sq mi (311,000 sq km); and the Great Victoria Desert, 130,000 sq mi (337,000 sq km).
