Muskrat



Muskrat, or musquash, aquatic rodent of North America, Ondrata ziethica, up to 2 ft (6 m) long. It lives in fresh water or salt marshes, feeding mainly on water plants. The feet are broad; the hindfeet webbed; and the fur is thick and waterproof.
