Audiology



Audiology, science of hearing; particularly, the study of hearing disorders and rehabilitation of individuals with hearing defects. Audiologists determine whether a person has a hearing deficiency by identifying and measuring hearing function loss and assessing the patient's ability to communicate. Corrective treatment may involve a hearing aid, learning to read lips, or improvement of listening skills.
