Atreus



Atreus, in Greek mythology, king of Mycenae and the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus. His brother, Thyestes, seduced Atreus's wife, Aërope, and attempted to seize the throne of Mycenae. Atreus, pretending to forgive his brother, invited him to a banquet at which he served Thyestes the bodies of his 2 sons.
