Jean Arp or Hans



Arp, Jean, or Hans (1887–1966), French sculptor, painter, and poet. Briefly associated with the expressionist art movement Der Blaue Reiter, he was a cofounder of Dada in Zürich (1916). He was also one of the best known exponents of the surrealist movement. Starting in the 1930s he created sculptures and reliefs notable for their elemental purity and strength.
