Ariadne

Ariadne, in Greek mythology, daughter of Minos, king of Crete. She loved the hero Theseus and gave him thread that helped him find his way out of the labyrinth. After Theseus killed the Minotaur, he married Ariadne but later deserted her. The god Bacchus gave her a crown of seven stars, which became a constellation.
