Århus



Århus (pop. 271,300), port and Denmark's second largest city. Developed by the 9th century. Århus is a commercial and industrial center producing textiles, machines, beer, and timber. It is the site of the Cathedral of St. Clemens, built around 1100, and of the University of Århus, foundened in 1928.
