Antichrist

Antichrist, in Christian belief, the human antagonist of Christ. The term appears in the Epistles of St. John. While the concept is sometimes interpreted as a lawless but impersonal power, others consider the Antichrist a personal incarnation of evil. Roman Catholic writers commonly interpret the term to mean any adversary of Christ and of the Church's authority, specifically the last and greatest antagonist of the Christian Church, whose coming will precede the end of the world.
