Angel

Angel, supernatural messenger and servant of the deity. Angels figure in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Zoroastrianism. In Christianity angels traditionally serve and praise God, but guardian angels may protect the faithful against the evil of the devil (the fallen angel, Lucifer). The hierarchy of angels is said to have 9 orders: cherubim, seraphim, thrones, dominions, virtues, powers, principalities, archangels, and angels.
