Saint Andrew



Andrew, Saint (1st century A.D.), one of Jesus's 12 Apostles, formerly a fisherman and disciple of John the Baptist. He reputedly preached in what is now Russia and was martyred in Patras, Greece, on an X-shaped (“St. Andrew's”) cross. He is the patron saint of Russia and of Scotland.
