Air conditioning, regulation of the temperature, humidity, circulation, and composition of the air in a building, room, or vehicle. In warm weather an air-conditioning plant, working like a refrigerator, cools, dehumidifies, and filters the air. In colder weather it may be reversed to run as a heat pump.
