Emilio Aguinaldo



Aguinaldo, Emilio (1869–1964), leader of the Philippine independence movement. After helping the United States capture the Philippines during the Spanish-American War (1898), he led Filipino guerilla warfare against U.S. occupation. He was defeated in 1901.
