Henry Brooks Adams



Adams, Henry Brooks (1838–1918), U.S. historian, brother of Brooks Adams. His autobiography, The Education of Henry Adams, in which he attempted to show how ill- prepared his generation was for the 20th century, won a Pulitzer Prize in 1919. His other works include Mount-Saint- Michel and Chartres (1913)and the 9-volume History of the United States (1885–91).
