Abalone



Abalone, or ear shell, marine mollusk (genus Haliotis) harvested as a popular seafood and for the colorful lining of its shell, which is used for making buttons and costume jewelry. The abalone is found in most mild and tropical waters clinging to submerged rocks by means of a muscular foot.
